1896-97 SPECIMEN overprints Die I 3d, 3s, 4s. Die II 2/6, 5s & 1898-1908 1/2d to 2 1/2d, 4dv(2), 6d, 1s, 5s, 7s6d, each with local Specimen handstamp (type R4), as sent to Gabon under the auspices of the UPU c1904-07. Without gum as usual, generally fine and a very rare and remarkable group, with the 1896-7 3d, and 1898-1908 4d (1) & 5s, having identifiable strikes of the Gabon receiving handstamp, and four values (1896-7 5s, 1898-1908 1/2d, 1d & 1s) not recorded by Samuel, (see page 57-8 & 197-9, possibly only five of each existed!
