1872 (23 Jan) Lightly stained cover GALATI to Vienna bearing 25b brown with beard superb four margins neatly tied good strike of GALATI cds with P.D. boxed h/s in top right, stamp is lower left, partly stained lightly and evenly across half the cover, WIEN arrival backstamp with wax seal removed from the cover. Scarce.
1873 Attractive combination cover from British Vice Consulate to UK bearing 1872 10b blue (2) & 25b orange tied two JASI (IASI) cds cancels, red PD & black boxed P.D. with 34 crayon accounting mark, sent via ODERBURG with three line 14 March transit backstamp. Torn flap with Bournemouth arrival b/s. Addressed to Lady Shelley at Boscombe Place. She was a noted Diarist and friend of the Duke of Wellington and had tea with Queen Victoria.
