EDVIII Photographic bromide essays for 5s & 10s with EDVIII side portrait, crisp black and white photograph with smooth, continuous gradations of tone, unadopted due to his abdication for 5s & 10s values. The 5s deal vignette ultimately used for GVI 5s & Deception Island vignette used for the GVI 10s. Very fine. (2).
King George Sixth mint collection nearly complete for the period including 1938 set mint (Cat £475), 1948 RSW set (Cat £90), 1952 set (Cat £190), mainly fine.
1876-77 2d on 3d green and unissued Four Pence on 3d mauve both imperf printer's trial on gummed (part o.g. hinge remains) laid paper with good to large margins all round, few tones. (2).
1934 (19 Jan) Long folded regd cover to London bearing GV 2d grey strip 3 and single making 8d rate with SUVA cds and regd h/s No. 707. Faults.
1869 5f lilac-grey on greyish, a superb very fine used example with crisp DOL DE BRETAGNE cds and AVA...SEP / 76 cds alongside, wonderful example and attractive combination of the two different postmarks, SG 131.
1871 (July) Entire from Gironde to Bordeaux unstamped hence Litho 15c black affixed and tied CDS (2 margins), filing fold and few marks otherwise scarce on cover, Scott $1300. Plus 1870 smaller envelope bearing Typo 15c black. SG D88 & D185.
